Are Electric Vehicles the promising new future of our generation?

While Tesla is the talk of the town and the SPACs – Special Purpose Acquisition Companies – are the in-thing with the stock market, have we conveniently forgotten how we power these new-age automobiles and Electric Vehicles?

People that are driving their Teslas are happy that they are contributing to a greener planet.

Do Electric Vehicles really reduce carbon emissions?

Most of the electricity that powers the cars come from conventional sources of energy – the EPA estimates about 84% comes from Coal, Natural Gas, and Nuclear Energy. Just 1% is produced by Solar Energy and 6% by Wind Energy.

Until the Electric Vehicles can have solar panels on their roof and can sustain themselves on this source, it seems odd to claim that Electric Vehicles can actually help the environment. Perhaps they can make the cities cleaner and less polluted but the energy has to be produced somewhere else…

With a large amount of power needed to run larger trucks and rigs, not sure if there is a worthy trade-off!
